CAUGHT BETWEEN DREAMING AND WAKING UP
Often visuals created in a state of deep thought, imagination or lucid dreaming are warping, distorting and glitching back rapidly to reality, as we startle into a waking state. What if we had an ability to catch a freeze-frame from this transition between dreaming and waking up?
This exhibit by Mandy Kulkarni presents these very moments between the two states. The series presents a new conceptual form of art expression belonging to the New Aesthetic Movement called Glitch Art where the viewer needs to absorb the distortion and snags created intentionally and experience art in it's chaotic imperfections.
The subjects chosen for this series bring forth various aspects of mental states and emotions related to our human lives. The motive behind glitch is also to amplify these stories. Also philosophically, to accept and appreciate glitches rather than being judgemental is our true evolution. From being illusionary to achieving an awakened state.
